I am a social scientist with interdisciplinary interests in organization theory and public policy. I study collaboration and change in sectors of public interest, particularly health and welfare. My research examines how organizations and occupations respond to large-scale societal transformations, including technological change, population aging, and disruptions in knowledge practices. My current work focuses on decision-making under ambiguity and uncertainty, the adoption of algorithmic systems, and their implications for work, identities, and professional–client relations. My empirical work adopts qualitative and mixed methods based on an in-depth engagement with the field.
My research is published or forthcoming in the leading journals in: (i) Management, like Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science; (ii) Healthcare, like Social Science & Medicine, Journal of Medical Internet Research, BMC Health Services Research; (iii) Public policy and administration, like Public Administration, The American Review of Public Administration, Public Management Review; and by top academic publishers such as Cambridge University Press.
I am Associate Professor at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University, faculty affiliate at Centre for Research on Health and Social Care Management (CERGAS), and at the Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy (DONDENA). I am one of the organizers of the Healthcare & Technology Research Jam, an academic network of scholars studying technological, professional and organizational dynamics in healthcare. I received my PhD in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge.
